Proverbs 31:10, 11 "Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. "

When you read Proverbs 31:10-31, you see that this virtuous woman is priceless.  You can't place a price tag on her worth.  She's very industrious.  She looks to make sure all the needs of her household are met.  She helps the poor.  She knows how to use wool and flax.  Out of her mouth is the law of kindness.  She's not idle.  She doesn't sit around the house all day long reading romance novels or devoting her time on the computer checking up on Facebook.  She makes sure all the daily tasks are taken care of.  That doesn't mean a virtuous woman can't read and enjoy a time of leisure.  But she doesn't allow chores or things that need to be accomplished undone.  She's very frugal with her time.  She devotes her time in raising her children for the glory of God.   When her children are sick, she's the one who stays up with them at night to make sure they recover.  She also takes great care of her husband after a long day on the job.  She takes care of his needs and makes sure that dinner's prepared for him at night and runs errands for him during the day while he's working.  Her children and her husband rise and call her blessed.  She's what keeps that home going on a daily basis.

I want to wish all the mothers on this special day a Happy Mother's Day.  It was Anna Jarvis who was instrumental in starting this holiday in 1908.  It was there she honored her mother who had been deceased for three years at the Andrews Methodist Episcopal church.  It was through that particular ceremony that marked the beginning of Mother's Day.  Then president Woodrow Wilson signed a bill in 1914 proclaiming the second Sunday of May as Mother's Day every year.

I want to thank all the mothers for all their hard work.  I know it's difficult for many mothers in this society we live in.  Many of them are divorced, or don't have a husband.  Many of them have to work jobs all day long and come home to the task of caring for their children.  That's very difficult.  But many of them do their best under the circumstances that face our nation today.  They hold our nation together and I want to thank them for that.  Happy Mother's Day.
