Kerry Signs "Landmark" Paris Climate Change Agreement on Earth Day

Kerry Signs Landmark Paris Climate Change Agreement on Earth Day

Secretary of State John Kerry signing climate change agreement holding his two-year old granddaughter in his lap at the United Nations Headquarters,

Secretary of State John Kerry (holding his granddaughter Isabelle in his lap) signed a "landmark" Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.  He called it the "strongest most ambitious climate pact ever negotiated.  The non-binding agreement was approved by 196b nations last December at the U.N. Conference of the Parties (COP-21) in Paris.  The countries pledged to drastically reduce their carbon emissions as soon as possible in order to hold "the increase in global average temperature to well below 2 degrees C pre-industrial levels.

When it comes to the issue of the environment, I'm a middle-of-the roader like some politicians claim to be.  I don't believe in environmental extremes.  I don't believe in polluting the earth nor do I wish we're to worship the world.  I believe in conservationism.  I believe it's proper to beautify our landscapes and to take care of our land but we don't exalt the environment above what God intends for it to be.  You don't kill the economy to "save the environment."  There are reasonable sensible ways to take care of the environment.  Even though I don't have a problem to set aside a day for conservation, our politicians use alarm tactics concerning climate change to make people think that they need to do something to save the earth.  It's all about government controlling every aspect of our lives.  The environment is one way they try to do it.
