Obama Faces Renewed International Opposition on Syria, While Trying to Win U.S. Support

President Obama, in his efforts to win America's support over for a punitive military strike on Syria, faces renewed challenges of winning international support for a showdown with Syria.  Russia and China are leading the international opposition.  Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, said the information the U.S. presented to Moscow trying to prove that the Syrian regime was behind the August 21st chemical-weapons attacks is "absolutely unconvincing."  Russia is Syria's closest ally, weapons supplier, and protector at the United Nations.  The Obama administration asserts that the Assad regime was behind the chemical-weapons attack that killed more than 1400 people and has been resuming efforts today to win Congressional support.  The Assad family has rule Syria for four decades and more than 100,000 people have been killed in the two-year-long civil war to oust the Assad regime.  To read the full story, click on the above link from Fox News.
