Texas Megachurch Pastor Says Obama Will 'Pave Way' for Antichrist

Texas Megachurch Pastor Says Obama Will 'Pave Way' for Antichrist

Dr. Robert Jeffres, pastor at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas

Dr. Robert Jeffres, a Texas megachurch pastor stated the Sunday before the presidential election that if Barack Obama is re-elected as president, it could lead to the rise of the antichrist.  Dr. Jeffres pointed out that Barack Obama isn't the antichrist because the antichrist's poll numbers will be much higher than Obama's.  However, Jeffres pointed out that the course that Obama is choosing to lead this nation is paving the way for the future antichrist.  He said it is high time that Christians stand up and push back against this evil that's overtaking our nation.  I say Amen to what he said.  I myself don't believe Barack Obama is the antichrist but I believe he's the vessel being used to pave the way for the coming of the antichrist, unless the Lord intervenes.  All I do know is that the future of this nation is in the Lord's hands.

I applaud Dr. Jeffres having the audacity to make a bold statement.  I know it's probably very difficult to do so in a large Southern Baptist church.  However, truth is truth regardless whether it's preached in a Southern or Independent Baptist church.  He's also received controversy from the past statements he made about Mormonism being a cult and the fact that Mitt Romney isn't a Christian.  He's right on both of those points as well.  He originally endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry when he ran in the primary earlier this year.  When Romney secured the GOP nomination, he supported Romney.
