Romney Targets 4 Percent Unemployment, as Obama Pleased With Progress

Trying to make an important point in his presidential campaign to unseat President Obama, GOP candidate Mitt Romney on Friday set a target of 4% for the nation's unemployment rate, while at the same time President Obama proclaimed it good news that the U.S. economy is consistently adding new jobs.  Both Romney and Obama used a fresh jobs report to bolster their own campaign's economic narrative.  The Labor Department gave mixed reviews for April, stating that the economy added 115,000 jobs, fewer than expected, and the unemployment rate dipped slightly to 8.1%, mostly because those who have been previously looking for work have stopped doing so.  Obama called the report another sign of slow but steady progress in pulling the economy out of the depths of the recession.  Romney made the point that the president's policies haven't worked fast enough for the millions of Americans still looking for work.  "Anything over 4 percent is not cause for celebration," Romney said as he campaigned in Pittsburgh.

The reason why the economy has been very sluggish in trying to recover is because the Obama-trons have been doing everything in their power to hinder the private sector from growing with the added regulations from the Dodd-Frank bill of 2010 and the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010, to name a few.  When Obamacare is fully implemented, it will be devastating for job creation.  The best thing the government can do is to allow the private sector to grow on it's own.  The free market should determine supply and demand--not the federal government.  Countries like Russia are known for central planning, which gives the government control over supply and demand.  Romney himself knows that the private sector creates jobs and the president himself can't grow the economy.  The most the federal government can do is to remove all the mundane regulations and abolish the present tax code.   Those two things are hampering the economy.  Another thing the U.S. government needs to do is to renege on NAFTA, CAFTA, and any of the free trade agreements within the last 20 years which have resulted in millions of American jobs being shipped overseas.  Consequently, what you see taking place in the American economy is Obama's vision of transforming this country.  Click on the above link to read the full story.
