Ann Romney Fires Back From the Hilary Rosen Charge That She Never Worked

Ann Romney fires back at never-worked charge

Ann Romney

On Thursday, Ann Romney fought back against charges Hilary Rosen made that Ann Romney isn't no economic expert because she hasn't worked a day in her life.  The furor erupted on Wednesday when Rosen said on CNN that Romney, whose husband is worth millions, never had to work to pay the bills and not be her husband's surrogate on the economy.  Rosen said, "His wife has actually never worked a day in her life.  She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of women in this country are facing."

I want to applaud Ann Romney for the hard work and dedication she displayed towards raising her five sons for several years.  Ann Romney's exactly right.  Raising five sons was very hard work.  Raising children is a harder job than working as an executive in an office for several hours a day.  Mitt was right in crediting his wife with raising their children.  Raising a family at home is much harder work than working out in the work force.  You're not dealing with robots when molding children.  It's a special task that shouldn't be taken lightly by feminists or anybody who makes light of a mother making the decision that raising her family is the best thing she can do.

Hilary Rosen made the charge that Ann Romney doesn't understand the plight of women due to the fact her husband is wealthy and she didn't have to work a day in her life to pay the bills.  However, I'm not sure how much Michelle Obama understands the plight of the majority of women either.  She and the president are an affluent family themselves.  (More than likely not to the extent the Romneys are).  They've been vacationing quite extensively since President Obama took the oath of office on January 20, 2009.  She's not living like the vast majority of working mothers in this country.  Political pundits are always making the charge Republicans don't understand the plight of working women.  I doubt that any of the elected elite in Washington (Democrat or Republican) understand the plight of working women.  They live a life in Washington that the average American doesn't live.  They're always being paid money by lobbyists. They're living better financially than the average American is.
