US Senate Passes Bill Raising Debt Ceiling

US Senate Passes Bill Raising Debt Ceiling

U.S. Senate passes Bill to raise debt ceiling 74-26

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed the bill to raise the debt ceiling in order to supposedly avoid a major default on meeting its obligations to Senior Citizens, soldiers, and Medicare patients.  I'm not sure all the hysteria about America going into default if Congress didn't pass a measure to raise the debt ceiling by August 2nd is true.  I wouldn't be surprised if all this hysteria about the debt ceiling is a lie.  The truth is there is an agenda behind raising the debt ceiling by August 2nd and I'm not sure it has anything to do with our nation going into default.  If President Obama and Congress were concerned about the nation going into default, then they would've been trimming spending left and right.  There's a broader agenda taking place that many people aren't aware of.  One thing that's taking place is there's a committe being formed with an equal number of Democrats and an equal number of Republicans.  They will have the power to impose a tax increase if they deem necessary.  Also, no filibusters will be allowed, either.  I was listening a little bit to Alex Jones last night and from what little I heard about this new committee, it doesn't sound good.  It sounds like this new committee might usurp authority over Congress, which is unconstitutional.  Most committees that are formed are formed for the purpose in researching a particular issue and giving their recommendations to Congress.  However, they have no power to enforce what they recommend.  I know some people will disagree with me but I believe wholeheartedly President Obama is doing everything in his power to destroy capitalism.  Take a look at how the Dow reacted yesterday.  The Dow plunged by 265 points.

The Senate approved the measure 74-26.  Most news organizations call that a bipartisan effort.  I have some news for you.  Anytime you see anything done in the name of bipartisanship, it smells like a scam.  In the last few years I've never seen both Democrats and Republicans come together in the "spirit" of bipartisanship that what they were about ready to do was good for America.  When George W. Bush was president, both parties came together to try to pass an amnesty bill for illegal aliens.  Thankfully through the effort of talk radio and many voters, that bill didn't make it through Congress.  In 2008, then Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and others used scare tactics to coerce Congress to pass the TARP bailout program or we would be plunged into a Great Depression.   Congress came together in a bipartisan to pass TARP to bail out their political donors.  When's the last time Congress has ever came together in the spirit of bipartisanship that it was good for the American people?  It's been a long time.  They're about ready to roll one over you when they come together in a bipartisan manner.  I'm not excited about bipartisanship knowing what's taken place in the past.

I mentioned a few weeks ago President Obama was intending to see a tax increase implemented.  I promise you there will be some tax increases somewhere.  I venture to say this committee will probably implement them.  If nothing else, there will be large tax increases once the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts expire at the end of 2012.  I don't look for this Congress to extend or make these tax cuts permanent.  This debt ceiling deal is a scam.  That's not the way to solve this problem.  However, President Obama and the 112th Congress aren't about solving problems anyway.  President Obama is fundamentally transforming this nation with help from the Democrats and the Republicans are co-conspirators in this effort.  It shows you what the Republicans in this Congress are comprised of.  It's not good.  These Republicans who voted for this bill need to be challenged in next year's primary elections.
