Michelle Bachmann Promises to Bring Back $2 Gas if Elected President

Bachmann: I'll Bring Back $2 Gas

According to "Business Inside Politix", Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) told the crowd in South Carolina on Tuesday that if elected president, she'll bring gasoline prices come down below to $2 a gallon.  She promises that will happen.  She didn't speculate how she would make that happen as president.  Bachmann noted that when Barack Obama first became president, gasoline prices were $1.79 a gallon.  She said, "Look what it is today."

I view this as just more campaign rhetoric from Michelle Bachmann.  I think she would be better off starting a cheerleading clinic teaching teenage girls how to cheer before a crowd than run for president.  I know that sounds sarcastic but she hasn't impressed me in her run for the presidency.  I do agree with the stands she supposedly takes.  I even agree with her voting record.  However, I haven't seen her mount an effort in the House of Representatives to derail the Obama agenda.  I would be much more impressed with Ms. Bachmann if she would utilize her efforts in derailing President Obama's socialist agenda as a Congesswoman than campaigning for president and making what I consider to be empty promises.  How am I to believe she would repeal Obamacare if she were president?  She won't mount an effort to defund it in the House.  The Republicans are in the majority in the House.  They could defund it.  But they refuse to do so.  If Michelle Bachmann isn't trying to derail President Obama's agenda as a House member, I'm not certain she'll motivate Congress to roll back the socialist agenda that's been passed by the Democratic Congress in the last few years.  Even if both Houses turned Republican and Ms. Bachmann would become president, I don't feel confident they will repeal Obamacare.  I've seen too much of this junk in the past.  It's easy to make promises, but fulfilling them are a totally different story.

I know some of the statements I made about Congresswoman Bachmann won't set well with some people, but we need a candidate that's serious about a competitive run for the presidency.  We don't need candidates that give out chants before a crowd such as "BARACK OBAMA WILL BE A ONE TERM PRESIDENT."  That's not going to defeat President Obama.  Ms. Bachmann needs to prove she's a formidable, serious candidate that will fight to defend the Constitution.  That's something she should've already done in the House.  Instead, we're hearing more of the same rhetoric we've heard in past campaigns.  Michelle Bachmann is nothing more than a cheerleader to me.  We don't need cheerleaders running for president.
