Appeals Court Rules Against Obamacare Insurance Mandate

Appeals Court Rules Against Obamacare Insurance Mandate

A federal appeals court panel struck down the requirement in President Obama's overall healthcare package which requires that every American purchase health insurance.  The divided three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the so-called individual mandate, siding with 26 states that have sued to block the law.  However, the panel didn't go as far as a lower court that had invalidated the entire healthcare overhaul as unconstitutional.

I have the article from Newsmax linked up to this post which explains the details.  Clink on the link to read the details.  I'm thankful that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals had the courage to invalidate the requirement that every American purchases healthcare insurance.  It's not the federal government's business to involve itself in the healthcare business.  The federal government is in overreach by trying to take over the healthcare industry and requiring all Americans to purchase healthcare.  The Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010 is unconstitutional and needs to be repealed.  The next step is for the U.S. Supreme Court to hear this case.
