We Need to Define Who Our Enemy is as well as Profile When it Comes to Fighting Terrorism

President Obama rebuked the nation's intelligence agencies Tuesday for failing to "connect the dots" and stop the alleged Christmas Day bomb plot. "We have to do better, and we will do better, and we have to do it quickly." Obama made that statement after meeting with 20 national security and intelligence officials. "American lives are on the line." Those are the statements of President Obama according to USA Today. Bombing suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab of Nigeria told authorities he received training and explosives from Al-Qaeda in Yemen, according to the Associated Press. Obama said for the first time about the attack from the White House that the government "had sufficient information to have uncovered this plot and potentially disrupt the attack," but the intelligence wasn't properly analyzed.

Last week Obama said that it was a "systemic failure" of the nation's intelligence gathering and analysis allowed a Nigerian man to board a flight to Detroit on Christmas Day in an alleged attempt to blow up an airliner. The problem was not a "systemic failure". The problem is political correctness run amok. When you are fighting terrorism you must define who your enemy is. That's something our government doesn't want to do. They don't want to speak out say it's the result of fanatical Islam because they don't want to be branded as "racist." However, you can't fight a war unless you know who your enemy is. Our enemy is the radical Muslim jihadists who consider America to be the "Great Satan". They don't agree with our way of life and their religion is in anthithesis to Christianity. It's a religous war. It's something the media and our government don't desire to admit. There's no way you can fight Islamic terrorism unless you define and identify your enemies. The federal government at all levels has hired and promoted Muslims to influential positions in government. They also require "sensitivity training" for federal employees; even the military. It's a joke. As a result, our government is turning their head the other way when Muslims slip through our borders.

This "war on terrorism" has been a joke in a number of ways. When you are fighting a war, it's urgent that our borders are patrolled. We don't need open borders in the light of the terrorist attacks nearly nine years ago. They should be guarded and those that attempt to cross our borders should have identification on them when they cross our borders. The immigration policies of the last few presidential administrations have allowed illegal aliens to come unknowlingly through our borders. That's why America's security is in jeopardy. Who knows what kinds of thugs or terrorists are slipping through our borders. You can't fight a war properly unless you patrol your borders; that's the first thing. The federal law enforcement needs to be actively profiling potential terrorists. This is the problem. The ACLU and CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations) are opposed to profiling immigrants based on race and ethnicity. That's why our airports have all these stupid scanning devices. That's why it takes all day practically to screen passengers before boarding planes. Our government won't profile people based on race. Race is considered a dirty word. However, when it comes to identifying criminals and suspects, one of the means of identifying them is through race. What class of people are the most likely to commit terrorist acts? Is it a 90-year white grandma? NO! Is it an 85-year old black woman or 80-year old white male? Of course not. Due to politicial correctness we are giving white elderly people more scrutiny than Arab males. That's foolish. The attention needs to be centered on Arab males.

Anybody that boards the plane needs their identification with them. Those from another country need to have their passport with them so the security at checkpoint can see what country they are from. That would make a huge difference in tracking down terrorists. If there's an Arab male whose passport says he's from Saudi Arabia or Yemen, he needs to be pulled aside and questioned. He shouldn't be allowed to board the plane. Those are some good safety measures. We need to scrutinize "likely terrorists" by their gender, race, and even religion. Who are the perpetrators that are the most responsible for committing acts of international terrorism around the world? It's those Arab male Islamists. Those types of people should be profiled. Some argue they might strap explosives on a middle Eastern woman. Then she needs to be profiled. Anyone who has the appearance of Middle Eastern origin should be scrutinized and questioned. It's not that complicated. It makes more sense to do that than put everybody through ridiculous scrutiny. It's foolish to utilize full body scans on everyone. There's a more simpler way to detect potential terrorists. Pulling off your shoes, not allowing anybody on the plane to use the restroom an hour prior to landing is not necessary. Profiling should be used. It would save time and money to profile likely terrorists instead of everyone boarding the plane. That's insane.

In short, the problem wasn't the nation's intelligence not connecting the dots. The problem is political correctness and not willing to define the enemy. Why does our government desire to cater to the Muslims? That's not going to prevent terror attacks. It may cause us to be overtaken by Muslims someday. Sympathizing with the Muslim nations aren't the answer. The answer is to profile would-be terrorists. Also, the United States needs to send a clear message to those countries that harbor terrorists that if one of them comes to America and tries to set off a bomb, for example, that country is going to face severe punishment from the United States. If these countries that harbor terrorists don't want their nation torn asunder, they must not allow their citizens to cross the U.S.'s borders and attempt to launch an attack. They'll pay dearly for it. That's what President Obama needs to tell these countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, or any other countries that sponsor terrorism that they will be stopped in their tracks if one of their men comes to America and attacks this great nation. Their country will look like a pile of rubble if they fool with America. That would prevent many would-be terrorists from coming here trying to destroy America. We must go back to common sense methods when it comes to defeating terrorism and Al-Qaeda. If we're going to fight them, the United States needs to show the world that it means business and it's not going to play around.
